Drive in for a night out

We’ve got our own car park, right behind the venue (less than 200m from our doors). And because we run it ourselves, rather than the council, the fees get put back into our work as a charity. So you’ll be helping us make sure all our live music opportunities are available to anyone – no matter their age, background, abilities, or how much money they have.

Just remember, the postcode for our car park is different to the one listed in our building address. So if you’re driving here make sure you tap NE8 2BA into your map app or sat nav.

• If you’re staying for less than 30 minutes, it’s on us. You’ll still need to get a ticket so you can feed the machine that lets you out, but it won’t cost you anything.
• If you’re sticking around for anything up to 2 hours, it’s £1.90 per hour. Just pay at the machines by the stairs when you’re done.
• If you’re here for longer than 2 hours it’s cheaper to pay before you park – for a flat fee of £4.80 you can stay from whenever you got here until 6am the next day. Just pay at the machines by the stairs before you go inside. (If you don’t, you’ll just get charged that £1.90 per hour rate for however long you stay).

You’ll find parking payment machines by the car park stairs – one at the top and one at the bottom. You can pay by card or use cash (and the machines do actually give you change, phew). They don’t do contactless payments though, so if you usually just rely on your phone make sure you grab some cash or a card on your way out the door.

Bad news – if you lose it there’s a £20 flat fee for your parking. So try and keep it somewhere safe. But if it does happen, just press the info button on any of the payment machines and we’ll help you sort it.

We’ve got lots of accessible spots for you – and however long you stay it’s always free. Just head to our ticket office or stage door and we’ll hand you a parking pass.

Here’s where you’ll find your spots:

• To the West of the building (on the side nearest the Tyne Bridge), in the turning circle used for public transport and drop-offs, there are three Blue Badge bays. These are the absolute closest you can get, with a short, flat-surfaced walk to the main doors (it’s around 40 steps).
• There are 34 Blue Badge bays just behind the venue, near the stage door, with flat-surfaced, gently-sloping pathways to both the East and West entrances (which both have accessible automatic doors).
• We’ve also got plenty of Blue Badge bays up in our main car park, where there are two lifts to get you back down to building level. And those lifts (just like the ones inside the venue) have Braille signs if you need them.

Wherever you park just remember to make sure your Blue Badge is sat clearly on your dashboard, or somewhere else easy to spot inside your car.
