Everyone's welcome to enjoy a drink or bite to eat at Sage Gateshead – you don’t have to come to a concert. Bon Appetit!

The Café

Our hot food menu includes freshly made pizza!

Our café has a selection of hot food, savoury and sweet treats as well as a range of hot and cold beverages.

We’re open from the building opening until 30 minutes before building closure as standard. However, if there is an evening performance the café will close after the interval.

We use Ringtons Fortissimo Coffee Beans which have a fruity, rich and naturally sweet flavour made from Arabica coffee beans and for soft drink fans we stock a wide range of Fentimans ice cold beverages.

If it’s ice cream you’re after, look no further than Doddington Dairy – an interval favourite!

Good to know: Our cold cups and lids are produced by Vegware and are made from a compostable bioplastic derived from plant sugars.

A pre show drink with a view

Come and enjoy a pre show drink at one of our many bars with stunning views of the famous NewcastleGateshead Quayside.


All bars open two hours before the start of the show and last orders is 30 minutes after the performance ends. Enjoy 10% off post concert drinks!

We love working with local suppliers, including Tyne Bank Brewery and Hadrian Border Brewery – who name all their beers after places between Newcastle and the Scottish Border.

We have a range of beers, lagers and ciders on draught courtesy of Molson Coors, who have a strong focus on sustainability and giving back to local communities.

If you would prefer an non-alcoholic beverage, then we have a selection of 0% drinks including Sipsmith 0% gin, wine, beer and cider.

In our Restaurant we offer curated menus to compliment the programmed activities, which means a fresh, exciting new menu every time you dine. We use local and seasonal produce in our dishes, with 50% being plant-based.
