What is the Access Requirement Register?
We want everybody to be able to enjoy Sage Gateshead. If you are deaf or disabled and have a specific access requirement, Sage Gateshead’s Access Requirement Register (ARR) is intended to help improve our service to you. The information you provide for the Register will help us to find the best available seats for you quickly and easily and having this information on file will also save time when you book in future.
You can join the Access Requirement Register by filling in a form which is available from Box Office. You can also download the form from the box to the right of the screen ⇒. Please note that complimentary Personal Assistant (PA) tickets will only be available to those on the Access Requirement Register.
How to join the Access Requirement Register
You can complete the application yourself, or your PA can do this on your behalf. Sections A and B need to be completed on all applications. Section C only needs to be completed if you need a complimentary PA ticket. You will also need to provide proof of eligibility if you require a complimentary PA ticket. Please ensure that you send photocopies only, as the documentation you supply will be securely destroyed once processed. Once we have received your application, we commit to processing it within 10 working days.
Complimentary PA tickets are available at our discretion to those who need assistance from another person in order to move around safely within our building. Complimentary tickets for PAs are available for any deaf or disabled person who has purchased a ticket to an event or performance and would be unable to attend without the help of their PA.
Your PA must be able to assist you to access our venue and facilities, remaining with you to ensure your well-being and comfort. Anyone designated as a PA must be physically able to assist the person they are with to leave the building in the event of an emergency.
Proof of Eligibility
The following forms of evidence make an individual automatically eligible for a complimentary PA ticket in addition to their ticket:
- Front page of DLA (Medium or Higher rate)
- Front page of Attendance Allowance letter (no specific rate required)
- Front page of PIP (no specific rate required)
- Evidence that you are registered severely sight impaired (blind)
- Recognised Assistance Dog ID card
- CredAbility Access Card
We recognise that the evidence above might not include everyone that has an access requirement. If you do not have any of the above evidence but wish to apply for a complimentary PA ticket, complete the Access Requirement Form stating why you need a PA. You are welcome to post or email copies of any additional evidence that supports your application if you have any, or contact us to discuss your application. Applications will then be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
When submitting documents to support your application, we ask that you:
- Scan evidence and attach it with your form if emailing
- Photocopy evidence and clip it to a printed form if posting
If you would like to bring your application form and supporting documents in, we will support you to complete the application form and will take copies of your evidence. Please feel free to blackout any information that relates to amount of benefit paid or health conditions etc. that might be on any documents submitted.
Sage Gateshead holds personal and access information about our customers in order to provide the best possible service. We will always ask for your consent to hold your details and we will never release any details held on the Access Requirement Register to outside organisations.
Renewal of Access Requirement Register Information
To ensure our records are up to date and we are able to continue offering a high level of service, we will ask you to renew your application every three years.
If you are deaf or disabled and would like to join the Access Requirement Register to help us improve our service to you, or need complimentary PA tickets when you visit us, please download and complete the ARR Application form and send it back to Box Office. You can do this by post, or via email.
If you require a Personal Assistant when you visit us, please make sure you complete section C and send copies of you supporting evidence to us with your application. You can also visit Box Office, and our team will support you to complete the application and will take copies of any supporting evidence.
