Words Weekend 2019
Dr Jon Copley: Ask An Ocean Explorer
How deep do sharks swim? Have more people been into space than the deep ocean? And what effect are we having on the health of our seas? Meet Jon Copley, ocean expert and scientific advisor for BBC’s Blue Planet II series, and hear the answers to these questions and more. Copley has more than twenty years experience exploring the ocean: he has led expeditions aboard research ships discovering new species of deep-sea animals, and in 2013, he became the first British person to dive more than 5km deep in the ocean.
