SURGE was a multidimensional performance by immersive studio, Megaverse, which brings to life our lost connection with water – a life-giving and destructive force.

Taking place in June 2022, Surge was experienced in person on the Sage One stage or through a livestream. The performance transported audiences into the tumultuous world of SURGE through game-engine technology and live performance.

The performance featured music by Anna Meredith, spoken word poetry by Vanessa Kisuule, and a live performance by The PappyShow.

SURGE was commissioned by Digital Catapult and Sage Gateshead and is part of the ImmexCity project, part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.
