Sage Gateshead’s CoMusica and partners deliver music and creative activities for young people in challenging circumstances. Join us on Sunday 23 June for a day of free performances and activities in Sage Two, Northern Rock Foundation Hall and on the concourse.

Experience the diversity of young artists, bands, singers and songwriters from across the region, take part in activities and find out about how to get involved.

Workshops

Loud & Clear Foster Family Workshop
12-12.45pm
Our Loud & Clear team of Music Leaders will be running a participatory music workshop for 0-5 year olds. They will introduce you to songs and ideas which can be replicated at home using props and toys. The session content will be fun and exciting whilst helping to support the development of the child. Older siblings will be welcome.

Music Spark Workshop
1.15-2pm
A music workshop planned and delivered by our Support Musicians, these are music leaders with additional needs that have graduated from the Music Spark community music training programme. Expect a lively, fun filled session with singing and music technology

Female Contemporary Choir Workshop
2.30-3.15pm
Are you a young woman aged 13-18 years with a love of pop and commercial music interested in meeting and singing with others your age? Come and sing with our Turn Up The Quiet singing leaders and try singing in harmony with like-minded young women. We’d love to see you there!

Cypher Workshop
3.45-4.30pm
Essentially meaning “conversation”, the Cypher is Hip Hop’s version of a jam, where vocalists trade verses, freestyle and introduce wordplay games to challenge each other’s lyrical prowess. Facilitated by Ken Masters with beats provided by DJ A.D.S.

Band Jam Workshop
4.30-5.15pm
Facilitated by CoMusica music leaders here is an opportunity to take part in a big instrumental jam session!
Be part of a creative music making experience, we’ll go where the music takes us. Bring your own instruments or try something new.
