Sage Gateshead Christmas Cracker

Sage Gateshead Christmas Cracker

Sage Gateshead is proud to present the one-off Christmas spectacular: Sage Gateshead Christmas Cracker. Free of charge, as a Christmas gift to you our wonderful audience and supporters, the performance features some of the North East’s most illustrious musicians and rising stars.

Local hero Sam Fender joins forces with Sage Gateshead’s own orchestra Royal Northern Sinfonia and alt-pop musician Martha Hill is accompanied by young jazz pianist Paul Edis. We’ll have performances from award-winning Teesside folk trio The Young’uns, as well as nationally renowned Voices of Virtue Gospel Choir and our own Chorus of Royal Northern Sinfonia.

Filmed in our iconic building, and presented by Northern legends Jess Gillam (BBC Young Musician, saxophonist) and Ross Millard (The Futureheads), expect plenty of festive fun and magical Christmas collaborations.

You and your little ones can also tune in at 7pm, right before the Christmas Cracker, for a special Mini Christmas Cracker. Join Eleanor Mooney, who you might know from our early years music classes and videos, for a special rendition of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, where you can sing along at home!

How to watch

Sage Gateshead Christmas Cracker will premiere on Sage Gateshead’s YouTube channel on Friday 18 December at 7.30pm, and it will be available to watch throughout the festive season until 4 January 2021.
