An Open Conversation: The Future Of Inclusive Ensembles

Duration – 10.30am - 4.30pm

THIS EVENT HAS PASSED

Free, ticketed

In recent years there has been significant growth in the number of inclusive orchestras and ensembles in the UK, including Sage Gateshead’s own ensemble RNS Moves. We know that many of us are thinking about similar issues, from artist development, assistive technology and new commissions, to building an audience.

We each hold a piece of the progression pathway for disabled musicians and each have different approaches and perspectives on these shared issues. So we are convening a national conversation to bring organisations together. Hear about what’s going on in different contexts and share experiences and ideas that will help us jointly build a picture of the future for inclusive ensembles.

With UK and international delegates we’ll reflect on the challenges facing us, look at what is emerging in the future and seek collaboration opportunities to enhance our work. There will also be the opportunity to see an open rehearsal with RNS Moves.

More details and full schedule announced soon.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Places are free but numbers are limited so advanced booking is essential.
