Job Applicant Privacy Notice

North Music Trust is an Arts Charity that processes data to fulfil its aims and charitable objectives. Our promise to you is that we will be clear, honest and open in the way we use your data, only use it in ways you should reasonably expect us to, and to stop using it should you request us to, or after you cease to engage with us for a reasonable length of time.

Data Collection

As part of all recruitment processes, we collect and process the personal data you supply us relating to your job application including:

  • your name, address and contact details, including email address and telephone number;
  • details of your education, qualifications, skills, experience and employment history;
  • information about your current level of remuneration, including benefit entitlements;
  • whether or not you have a disability for which the organisation needs to make reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process;
  • information about your entitlement to work in the UK; and
  • equal opportunities monitoring information, including information about your gender, disability status, age and ethnic origin.

We collect this information in a variety of ways and will also collect personal data about you from third parties, such as references supplied by former employers and information from criminal records checks through the Disclosure and Barring Service – where legally necessary. We provide two options for applicants to state their consent preferences. Applicants can withdraw or change their consent preferences at any time throughout the interview process by emailing humanresources@sagegateshead.com The organisation will seek information from third parties only once a job offer to you has been made and will inform you that it is doing so.

Data Integrity, Security and decision making

You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to the organisation during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide the information, the organisation may not be able to process your application properly or at all.

You are under no obligation to provide information for equal opportunities monitoring purposes and there are no consequences for your application if you choose not to provide such information.

If your application is unsuccessful, the organisation will keep your personal data on file for a period of 6 months in its legitimate interests.

Our recruitment processes are not based solely on automated decision-making.

If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment.

Access to information

You have a right to see what information we hold about you via a Data Subject Access Request. Please contact the Data Protection Officer (dataprotection@sagegateshead.com) who will be in touch to gain the relevant identification from you and will provide results of your access request within one calendar month.
