We’re walking in the air…

It’s not Christmas until you’ve been to Sage Gateshead and let yourself be whisked off into the cold, starry night by The Snowman. This enchanting screening of the family favourite film is accompanied live by Royal Northern Sinfonia.

And of course before all that, we’re Going on a Bear Hunt! We’re going to catch a big one…!

The performance on 22 December at 2pm is a Relaxed Performance and will be BSL Interpreted.

This means it will provide a supportive and relaxed environment suited to autistic people and people with disabilities, and their families.

This means:

  • Audience members are free to move around and make noise during this performance.
  • Hall doors will open 45 minutes before the performance be left open for people to come and go as they wish throughout.
  • There will be no interval.
  • A quiet and comfortable breakout space will be available, in the Northern Rock Foundation Hall.
  • There will be no loudspeaker Front of House announcements, but our friendly staff will be on hand to help you and direct you into the Hall.
  • Don’t worry if you’re running late – there’s no need to rush, the Hall will be open.
  • The Hall lights will be left on throughout the performance, and there will be no moving or surprising stage lights.
  • There will be a short introduction at the beginning of the performance to explain what’s going to happen.

The BSL signer will be positioned at the front of the stage, on stage right (East side of the hall). We are holding a selection of seats in front of this area to offer the best view for BSL users. However, we believe you will have a clear view of the signer from anywhere in the hall, except for the sides of Levels 2 and 3. To book one of these held seats, please call or visit our Box Office.

Family tickets are available for this performance: Four tickets must include at least one Adult and one child aged 16 & Under.

Please note all ‘£5 First Timers’ tickets have now sold out for this show.

Children two and under go free sitting on a knee. (No ticket required).
