Open The Book

Join us for this Plainsong Singing Special, take a peek inside a 600+ year-old choir book and sing some of the beautiful music.

Newcastle University Library holds The Petre Gradual, a 370-page 14th-century manuscript which is a rare survivor of later religious turbulence.

Led by Jonathan Adams, director of Silver Plainsong and of the Benedict Biscop Gregorian Choir, spend an afternoon with English church chant and sing from exact copies of the original manuscript.

All voices welcome. No prior experience necessary.
