Tonight’s programme features Mendelssohn’s celebration of the life and the passion that is Italy, alongside the quirky and fun Italian puppet show Pulcinella, separated by an interlude from the multi-talented young American Caroline Shaw. Portuguese conductor Dinis Sousa was a huge hit with audiences lucky enough to hear the first concert in our Beethoven 2020 series in Carlisle and Middlesbrough last season. We are delighted to welcome him back to perform on RNS’s ‘home stage’ here at Sage Gateshead.
