Jack Sheen conductor
Royal Northern Sinfonia

Steve Reich Duet
Marc Mellits Black
Missy Mazzoli Ecstatic Science
Philip Glass Symphony No.3

Bold colours, crisp rhythms, basic tools: the key to American minimalism is in its name. But these seemingly simple elements can unlock infinite worlds of the imagination, creating musical patterns whose complexity – and beauty – knows few limits. In the stunning surroundings of Wylam Brewery, Royal Northern Sinfonia digs into the surprisingly passionate soul of Steve Reich’s Duet, finds endless, glinting shades of darkness in Marc Mellits’ Black, and dances above the warping sonic landscape of Missy Mazzoli’s Ecstatic Science. Plus, a complete performance of Philip Glass’ Symphony No.3 – a true cult classic, on an expansive scale.

Doors Open 7pm – grab a drink from the bar and get comfy!
