Rossini L’Italiana in Algeri: Overture
Strauss Horn Concerto No.2
Mendelssohn Symphony no.4 ‘Italian’

The verve and brilliance of Royal Northern Sinfonia with their lively director Bradley Creswick is here yet again with a wonderful programme! Rossini’s scintillating overture to his opera The Italian Girl in Algiers, followed by Richard Strauss virtuous 2nd Horn Concerto, one of his last great works and the most performed and recorded horn concerto of the 20th century. Finally we return to the Mediterranean with Mendelssohn’s sunny Italian Symphony.
