An invaluable experience for music students from Years 7 to 13, particularly those studying for GCSE or A level music, RNS LIVE! Set Works offers the opportunity to hear selected set works from all the major examining boards performed live by Royal Northern Sinfonia in a friendly and accessible format.
Tom Redmond guides us through the musical periods from Baroque to Contemporary with expert analysis and plenty of audience participation along the way.
We are delighted to be joined by soloists from the Samling Institute for Young Artists for excerpts from Mozart’s opera The Marriage of Figaro.
The performance will last approximately 75 minutes without interval.
What teachers said after RNS LIVE! 2018:
“….I just wanted to say WOW!!! we all loved the concert yesterday – it was brilliant!! …”
“….The presentation of the music from the host was perfectly pitched, plenty of humour and just the right amount of participation….”
“The concert this afternoon was absolutely excellent – our pupils really enjoyed it. It was pitched just right, the choice of pieces, the length of the programme and the variety was excellent. For us, the compere and the presentation really made all the difference between it being a worthwhile afternoon and a really valuable learning experience. We brought 44 pupils from Year 9 – Year 13 all taking either GCSE or A Level music and everyone learnt something new or had knowledge reinforced. It makes such a massive difference to hear works played live.” Elizabeth Johnston, Kings Priory School
