From the Glasshouse brings you a garden of musical delights including homegrown talent, wildflowers from further afield, and brand new music which has been lovingly nurtured in our iconic glass building.

Expect special one-off performances, intimate sets, the occasional surprise guest and a cosy and relaxed feel. Offering up a place for you to discover your new favourite artist from folk to pop and everything in between.

This month’s leafy line-up features: HMV-signed artist and Summer Studios resident 2022 India Arkin, full of peeve and lovers of wonderful things The Peevie Wonders and 18 year old Singer/Songwriter from Sunderland Eve Cole.

This series of gigs has ‘pay what you decide’ for seats on all levels of Sage Two so you can choose how much you pay for your ticket. For a seat nearer the stage and a candlelit table to pop your drink on, select Cabaret seating – perfect for a casual live music experience. Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to perform as part of a cabaret!

Construction works near Sage Gateshead

India Arkin

India Arkin

HMV’s one and only unsigned artist, India Arkin is most definitely one to watch in 2023. Having launched her debut album Home Truths in October 2022, she has become a National Album Day ambassador alongside the likes of Sam Ryder, Franz Ferdinand, KSI, and The Staves earning her place as a BBC Introducing Tips for 2023.

India Arkin is an indie singer-song-writer based in Newcastle defined by her idiosyncratic soundscapes and confessional lyricism. Launching her debut single Dashboard Dancing in August of 2021; she quickly caught the attention of the BBC, finding a heavy rotation on BBC Introducing North East and BBC Introducing Tees. Her debut EP No Innocent Bystander later featuring on Tom Robinsons Radio 6 Mixtape, and earning her a residency at Sage Gateshead where she recorded ‘Party Favours’.

The Peevie Wonders

The Peevie Wonders – They like getting peevie and they like wonderful things. Expressing extreme passion in their music they reference Irn Bru, Morrisons, Keith Lemon, Eczema, people who don’t put butter on their bread and of course Gym lads and Indie boys. The newcomers of 2022 have received Radio 1 airtime and sold out their first headline show back in August 2022. Fun times are the best times and they have put together a live show that oozes entertainment.

Eve Cole

Eve Cole

Eve Cole is an 18 year old singer/songwriter from Sunderland, England. She is emerging in the North East music scene with her energetic alt-rock/pop sound. After winning the Alan Hull Award in early 2022, Eve has been doing shows in and around the North East. She is featured as a BBC Introducing tips for 2023 artist, and performs combinations with her band and solo. In Summer 2023, Eve will be travelling with David Brewis of Field Music for ‘The Soft Struggles’ album tour, in which she is a featured artist on the track, “When You First Meet”, showcasing her sweet melodies.
