Family-Christmas-Ceilidh

Part of Christmas at Sage Gateshead

A ceilidh dance suitable for families (all ages welcome, but works especially well for 5+)

THIS EVENT HAS PASSED

A Folkworks Family Christmas Ceilidh has become one of the traditions of the Christmas season at Sage Gateshead. Join in with an afternoon of fun dances, expertly explained by the caller, with music you just won’t want to sit down to from 422.

The best ceilidh band in the world” – Alistair Anderson

422 are a folk band and ceilidh band based in the North East of England. They play music from all over the world with a Northern English Bias. Since winning the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award in 1999, they have released 4 albums. They have a wealth of experience of playing for dancing, and know exactly how to give the tunes that extra ‘swing’ to make you want to dance.
