Sage Classics 2022/23

Sage Classics 2022/23

We are so thrilled to bring you a whole season of Sage Classics, a full year of brilliant classical music for you to enjoy.

We celebrate Lindisfarne Gospels’ visit to the region with a Music and Spirituality theme and Artists in Focus Dame Sarah Connolly and Benjamin Grosvenor feature through the season. We mark the anniversaries of Ralph Vaughan Williams and César Franck through performances of major symphonic works and we are particularly excited to share a commission of a major new work by Kate Whitley.

Visiting symphony orchestras return, ranging from the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Belgian National Orchestra to our Northern friends at the Hallé and the RLPO. Easter will be celebrated with Bach’s Mass in B Minor performed by Sir John Eliot Gardiner and the English Baroque Soloists and Monteverdi Choir.

We also welcome Dinis Sousa back for his second season as Royal Northern Sinfonia‘s Principal Conductor and showcase the talents of the orchestra’s new Section Principal Flute and Section Principal Clarinet with concerto performances in the autumn. Plus, keep your eyes peeled for more concerts and a jam-packed Christmas season on sale soon.
