I don’t yet have a Will. How do I get one?
Writing or updating a Will is usually a simple process. It often takes just a few minutes to do and isn’t as expensive as you might think.
How can I update/change my Will?
A solicitor can help you to add a special form, called a codicil, to your existing Will. Making changes yourself without seeking legal advice could make your existing Will invalid.
Are there implications for Inheritance Tax?
Including a gift to charity in your Will can help to minimise inheritance tax liabilities. There is information on Inheritance Tax on the Government’s website. You should also see advice from a suitably qualified lawyer.
Can I specify which aspect of the charity’s work my gift should go to?
Leaving an unrestricted gift in your Will allows North Music Trust to use your donation wherever the need is greatest.
However, if you feel strongly about leaving a gift in your Will to a particular area/activity of our work, then please do get in touch to discuss this. Any restriction should be clearly set out in the wording of your Will to ensure your wishes are met.
