Backstage #33: Young Musicians Programme at Home
Since lockdown, the Young Musicians Programme, or YMP, at Sage Gateshead has by necessity transferred online. This new version — YMP at Home — has enabled almost 180 students to enjoy one-to-one tuition each week via Microsoft Teams. Ian Wylie spoke with one of the music leaders and a couple of her students to see how YMP at Home is actually accelerating learning in some cases, while helping to support music leaders as well as students handle the challenges of lockdown.
