Music Director for Jambone [Freelance]
Sage Gateshead would like to engage an inspirational, energetic, and dynamic musician with a deep knowledge of jazz repertoire and styles as Music Director for Jambone, the youth jazz ensemble of Sage Gateshead.
Jambone is the youth jazz ensemble of Sage Gateshead. They were established to provide the North’s young jazz musicians a space to rehearse and perform challenging jazz music together to high standards, and to learn and develop as jazz musicians.
Jambone form a central part of Sage Gateshead’s commitment to inclusion. In addition to striving for high quality performances, Jambone focuses on building connections to educational and community networks, working to support pathways into Jambone, and onwards to becoming a professional musician.
The Music Director for Jambone is a significant music leadership role. The person appointed will excel at nurturing and developing the creativity, musical potential and performance skills of the players. This role is fixed term January 2022 – July 2024.
