Job Vacancy: Senior Development Manager (Fixed Term)
Sage Gateshead is an international music centre with two auditoriums and a rehearsal space all with world class acoustics, a 25 room Music Education Centre, bars, restaurant, café, shop and public space creating a ‘town square’ for anyone to enjoy for free. This role is a key position within the External Relations and Strategic Development department,
working directly with the fundraising and strategy and reporting teams.
The External Relations and Strategic Development department looks after three core functions for
Sage Gateshead – fundraising, communications and strategy. In 2021/22 the team will raise or steward
over £6m in grant and philanthropic income.
The senior development manager will be responsible for raising income from Trusts and Foundations
with an annual target of c.£500,000. Sage Gateshead has strong relationships with major UK
foundations and other strategic funders. Working with the department director, managing director and
other senior colleagues, the post holder will be responsible for:
– Pipeline management;
– Relationship building;
– Bid and report writing;
– Stewardship of Trusts and Foundations.
The post holder will also help to develop strategy and strategic funding opportunities. This will include
supporting an organisational response to Arts Council England’s Investment Principles. Administrative
support will be offered both from the fundraising team and strategy and reporting team.
