The External Relations and Strategic Development team at Sage Gateshead is looking for new colleagues.

We’re the team that looks after development, communications, and business planning for the organisation. This includes everything from: hosting donor receptions, creating digital projects, writing our business plans, and coming up with new ways to tell our big story as a national music centre based in the North East.

There are currently 14 excellent people in our team who come from a variety of different backgrounds and have a wide range of professional experiences.

We’re hoping to find new colleagues to support us with fundraising and communications. If you’re passionate about music and creativity and have the skills to tell the story of its powerful impact on people and communities, we’d love to hear from you.

Within the Fundraising Team, we’re looking to appoint someone as a Development Manager who will work primarily at building relationships with, and support from, individual donors and businesses. We want to recruit a great person and are open to candidates with a range of experiences and skills. The Development Manager role is an exciting new position within the External Relations and Strategic Development team. We are looking for a personable, dynamic and motivated individual who is passionate about building relationships with, and support from, individual donors and businesses.

The post-holder will join fellow fundraising colleagues including a Head of External Relations, a Senior Development Manager (Trusts and Foundations), an Individual Giving Officer and a Development Coordinator. They will also work closely with other colleagues in the External Relations and Strategic Development team, as well as those in Programme and Conference & Events teams.

It’s a great time to join our team. During the last 12 months we’ve more than doubled our fundraised income, and we’re producing some exciting new work to shout about, including our award-winning The World How Wide project, a brilliant programme of music-making classes, and an exciting and innovative season of creative work. We’ve just announced Variations, a project which asked artists to explore issues of the pandemic and climate crisis, featuring John Grant, Tune-Yards, Moor Mother and Yoko Ono and Anohni.

We have some of the finest facilities for music making in the country, a world-class orchestra, and support an inclusive music learning programme that reaches 50,000 each year. Join us and help to make all of this and more happen!
