Step Up Singing

Step Up Singing

  • Age 8-14
  • Saturday mornings during term time, 1 hour and 15 minutes (time tbc)
  • Termly fee: £85
  • Bursaries are available
  • New for 2020/21

Step Up Singing is a great way for young people to learn and develop their vocal skills and musical knowledge. They will sing together as a choir and learn about musical language and theory through games and activities.  It’s a fantastic next stage for young people who have attended Foundation Singing, and a great way for beginners to get started if they want to progress with singing or learn to play an instrument.

Children aged under 8 can apply for Foundation Singing for 4 to 7 year olds. Young people can also apply for our youth choir Quay Voices for 13 to 19 year olds This means that young singers can develop their voice at Sage Gateshead all the way up to 19 years old.

Fees and Bursaries

Our Young Musicians Programme is open to all children and young people, whatever their circumstances. We are keen to encourage applicants from the widest possible range of backgrounds and access a bursary where needed.

Here’s some more information about bursaries. If you’d like to speak to someone, please email us at [email protected].
