Fun Palace and Arts Award – Whickham School
Fun Palaces celebrates arts, culture, science and creativity in the heart of the community. This year we’ve connected it with Arts Award, a national qualification celebrating young people’s achievements and journeys within the arts. Part of the award is to host an event, so students from Whickham School decided to hold it here.
Fun Palace: Stand Up Speak Out was an event organised and delivered by the young people from Whickham School as part of their Gold and Bronze Arts Award Journey. The students programmed a series of arts activities, performances and talks that were free to take part in and watch.
“The experience has been really good. I’ve learnt how to work as a team and get over my nerves to put on a really good performance.”
