Introducing Ni Maxine, a 21st Century Jazz Singer on a journey of self-discovery with a story to tell.
Having had her first (unreleased) original song played on BBC Introducing this year, Ni Maxine is working on a body of music which explores themes of home, identity, belonging, and self-esteem – concepts which she has struggled with over the years.
Inspired by the greats, Ni Maxine feels a sense of duty to reflect the times, highlighting issues which affect the wider black community and calling for socio-political change.
With a monthly radio show called Bath Tub Jazz on Liverpool-based SVARA radio and upcoming monthly radio show on Melodic Distraction, she has already sparked important conversations in the city of Liverpool and intends to use her music to inspire collective healing and change within.
