Faye Fantarrow

Faye Fantarrow is an 18 year old singer songwriter from Sunderland.
I was given my first guitar when I was twelve and played around with it on and off until I was fifteen when I realised this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I had sang in my primary school choir and the two seemed like a natural fit and gave me a conduit.
I’m sure I’m not alone when I say music is my coping mechanism. I use music to express how I am feeling and to communicate how I view the world, both the good and bad. I like to observe people and situations and use these as a narrative in my songwriting but also drawing on my own personal experiences and emotions. I’ve found that as I’ve grown older, the world has become a harder place to live especially within the current climate; songwriting has allowed me to feel less helpless and has empowered me to no longer be afraid to convey my opinion to the wider world. I will always be forever grateful to my music for this!
