Sara Wolff

Weaving together words, intimate guitar chords, choral harmonies and sometimes loud distortion, Sara Wolff creates songs that are playful, intimate and brutally honest.

She released her debut EP, ‘When you Left The Room’, in 2021. It is an EP about fraying relationships and botched social interactions, recalling the off-kilter approach of Fiona Apple and Cate Le Bon. With continuous support from local promoters she has shared stages with artists like Fenne Lily, Peter Broderick and Group Listening, with her music broadcast on BBC 6, Amazing Radio and Radio Ireland.

Accompanied by visuals, a cassette machine and her guitar, Sara will be going on her first solo tour around the United Kingdom this summer, playing time-warped versions of her EP as well as a handful of new works, which she has been developing in the studio after support from the Arts Council’s DYCP.

“Emerging from the endless fog and cosy comforts of her winter hibernation, Sara Wolff’s debut EP offers a deeply melodic warmth and beautifully crafted lyrical exploration of humanity’s highs and hollows. For a debut this is some audacious and assured songwriting, perfect in its simplicity and craft.” – Now Then Magazine

“The ethereal synths fade into her tender vocal timber with seamless ease creating a cohesive soundscape for the observational lyrics. Coming from Liverpool with tinges of Norwegian cool, Sara Wolff composes elaborate songs between alt-folk and bedroom synth pop.” – Nothing But Hope And Passion

“Musically, Sara’s sound is a somewhat angular take on alt-folk, bringing to the mind the likes of Cate Le Bon or Cocorosie with her call-and-response way with melodies, both vocal and instrumental, and her gently disorienting take on a more traditionally straight talking genre. While her music journey is only just beginning, Sara Wolff already feels like an intriguing prospect, one I can’t wait to see develop and grow, the results are already looking hugely exciting.”– For The Rabbits
