Accessibility at Sage Gateshead
Sage Gateshead is fully accessible with a range of free mobility, parking and general visitor facilities.
Baby changing & nursing
Unisex baby changing facilities are available on every level of the building. Nursing mothers are welcome to nurse in the Café & all front of house areas
We offer a free cloakroom facility on the ground level of the building.
Sage Gateshead has its own car park with lift access situated directly behind the building. (Please note Mill Road car park, situated at the bottom of the steps near the Millennium Bridge, is not operated by Sage Gateshead).
New Car Parking Charges – as of 1st September 2015
- Up to 30 minute: FREE – go straight to the exit with your ticket.
- Up to 1 hour: £1.60
- Up to 2 hours: £3.20
- 3 hours or more: £4.50 – Pre-payment required before entering the building.
If you are staying for 3 hours or more and pre-payment is not made, then an hourly rate of £1.60 will apply to your visit. Pre-payment charges will cover until 6am the following day, at which point an hourly rate of £1.60 will apply.
Payment machines are available at the top and bottom of the car park stairs. You can pay by cash or debit/credit cards. The machines provide change and there is a free cash machine inside the building next to our ticket office.
If you are a Sage Supporter holding Level 2, Level 3, Family or Sage Circle membership, you pay just £1.20 per day when parking at Sage Gateshead.
Further car parking is available within two to fifteen minutes walking distance from Sage Gateshead, in Gateshead and Newcastle centres.
From time to time Sage Gateshead’s car park is closed. At such times, information about any closures will be noted on this website. Should you plan to visit Sage Gateshead by car, may we suggest that you check in advance to ensure that our car park is not closed.
Blue Badge Holders
There are a number of priority spaces for blue badge holders near the entrances to Sage Gateshead as well as in our car park by the lifts. Parking is free at all times – please go to our Ticket Office with your ticket and registration details.
Lost tickets are charged at £20. Please press the information button on the payment machines.
