Easter Food and Fun at Sage Gateshead!

On Saturday 19th April Sage Gateshead is hosting an Easter Family Fun Day! From 11am – 4pm, visitors have free entry to a fun day of themed activities for all the family and of course, delicious Easter-themed food!

To complement the day’s activities, which include an Easter egg hunt, face painting and bonnet making, our chefs have been preparing a special menu which includes hot cross buns, sinmel cake and crème egg brownies, all freshly baked on-site!

Our Pastry Chef Anthony Wright has also prepared some delicious Chocolate Scotch Eggs (pictured above), on sale all week at the Sir Michael Straker Café. Or why not get your hands dirty and make them yourself with the recipe below!

For 15 Easter choc Scotch eggs

  • 15 cream eggs
  • 1kg cake crumbs
  • 30gram Raspberry Jam
  • 200g Toasted coconut

Mix the crumb and jam then coat the cream egg in the crumb & jam mix. Use 70g of mix per cream egg then make into a ball. To finish, roll in the toasted coconut.

Put in the fridge and serve chilled.
