Ellen Nisbeth

Swedish Grammy-nominated violist Ellen Nisbeth is recognised for her natural integrity and stage presence. Her outstanding talent combined with a profound love for music has made Ellen pursue a career as a solo violist and chamber musician.

Ellen earned respect when she won the 2012 Swedish Soloist Prize as the first violist ever, and in 2013 she won the Nordic Soloist Prize at Bergen International Festival.

Ellen Nisbeth is accompanied by Swedish pianist, Bengt Forsberg. Bengst Forsberg studied at the Gothenburg College of Music, majoring in both piano and organ. He has made several highly praised recordings for Hyperion, with solo recordings of piano music by Schubert and Schumann, as well as various chamber music recordings. Bengt Forsberg has travelled the world for recital tours and concerts, including a three concert showcase at New York’s Alice Tully Hall for which he had the dual role of Artistic Advisor and performance and as guest artist for three consecutive years to the Perth Chamber Music Festival in Australia. Bengt Forsberg has toured Chine and, with Annie Sofie von Otter, made major tours of Jpana, North America and Europe.
