The Handsome Family plus Courtney Marie Andrews

Sage Two

For almost as long as they’ve been married (26 years) Brett and Rennie have written songs together (Brett, music; Rennie, words). Their finished work is never fully one or the others, but lives in unseen space between them.

They’ve been covered by Jeff Tweedy, Amanda Palmer, Cerys Matthews, Christy Moore and many others – and count Bruce Springsteen and Ringo Starr among their fans.

After living and working in music for many years, they achieved almost-overnight fame when their song ‘Far from any road’ featured as the Theme to the hit TV show True Detective.

Live, Brett (guitar/vocals) and Rennie (banjo/bass/vocals) are joined by drummer Jason Toth (worldwide) and multi-instrumentalist Alex MacMahon (USA).
