One year on from the death of the legend that is Merle Haggard, Sage Two welcomes Merle Haggard’s Strangers featuring Ben and Noel Haggard, his sons, alongside members of their father’s band.
rollingstone.com: Merle Haggard Tribute: 10 Best Things We Saw
Songwriter, singer, banjo player, Ashley Campbell juggles all three roles, armed with the ability not only to dream up a modern country song, but to deliver it too.
The youngest daughter of country star Glen Campbell, her music is a mix of her wide-ranging influences, combining the old-school country sound of the 60s and 70s with contemporary Americana, rootsy folk and country-pop.
With years of heavy touring under her belt, there’s no denying her iconic country pedigree, but Ashley is attracting the spotlight these days with her style, talent and a unique sound all her own.
Ashley Campbell: 7.30pm – 8.15pm
Merle Haggard’s Strangers: 8.45pm – 10pm
Please note timings subject to change.
