Post-concert spotlight performance

We were all very sorry that Royal Northern Sinfonia Music Director Lars Vogt was taken ill back in November, and unable to be at Sage Gateshead to perform Beethoven’s ‘Emperor’ Concerto. The phrase ‘the show must go on’ certainly rang true that evening, however, and we were extremely grateful to Peter Donohoe who travelled up from Oxford at very short notice to perform the concerto to a packed out Sage One with no rehearsal.

Lars was extremely sad about not being able to perform after so much preparation and so we are delighted to inform you that as a special treat he will be performing the ‘Emperor’ Concerto as a post-concert performance at New Year, New Artists on Friday 27 January.
