Classical Season 2016/17 | For Young Ears

Classics 4 Kids with Lars

Sage One

Lars Vogt conductor/piano
Royal Northern Sinfonia

Wondering how to get your kids started in classical music? Our new three-part series of children’s concerts are a great place to kick-start their interest.

Taking place on Saturday afternoons, these 45-minute long concerts with Royal Northern Sinfonia aim to introduce your youngsters to classical music in a fun and accessible way – and we’re sure the grown-ups will love it too.

In our first concert, RNS’s Music Director Lars Vogt is joined on stage by his close friends Christian and Tanja Tetzlaff. Come along to hear them play music by Beethoven, Schumann and Dvořák and discover all about the violin and cello.

Make a day of it with these pre and post show activities, taking place on the concourse at Sage Gateshead:

Face painting from 12-4pm

Large garden games (Jenga, chess, Connect Four) from 11-4pm

Demo with a few members of Royal Northern Sinfonia, and the chance for kids to have a go at the violin, at 1.15pm

PLUS our Great North Snowdogs trail all day!
