A sparkling evening of chamber music to start the New Year! Strauss’ effervescent overture and Brahms’ playful Serenade, both pieces steeped in the musical traditions of Vienna, bookend a programme which also features Hindemith’s jaunty wind quintet and Martinů‘s Nonet, full of Gallic charm and wit.
