Gateshead International Jazz Festival 2018

Jambone with Special Guests

Northern Rock Foundation Hall

Directed by Paul Edis, Jambone is one of the region’s top youth jazz ensembles. Performing in high profile concerts and events with some of the great jazz artists, Jambone comprises trumpet, trombone, saxophone and flute sections locked together by piano, guitar, bass and drums. The musical mission of the band is anything but conventional, aiming to provide a range of fresh repertoire and performance challenges for its members.

Packed full of talented young musicians, in recent years members of the band have taken part in the BBC Young Jazz Musicians of the Year and have featured as part of the BBC Introducing Scheme with a performance on Radio 3.

For this concert, they will be including material developed with two guest composer/bandleaders- James Brady and Barratt.
