Accompanied by her 17 piece orchestra conducted by world class trumpeter/composer Guy Barker, award-winning singer Clare Teal presents her new show, The First Ladies of Swing.
This rich, jazz infused repertoire explores timeless classics penned by the legendary musical storytellers of the last 100 years, and celebrates giants of the Great American and British Songbooks through to the work of more contemporary writers crafting the standards of today plus Clare’s own original compositions.
The eclectic song list, with music from Cole Porter, Billy Strayhorn, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Tim Rice to Sting, and honouring the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson and Peggy Lee, includes Sans Souc’, Secret Love, Feeling Good, Lush Life, It Might As Well Be Spring, Wild Is The Wind and Paradisi Carouse’.
Singer-songwriter Ben Cipolla started out as a young busker but his smooth vocals have since migrated from the streets to the nation’s speakers, airing his material on BBC Introducing Sessions and Clare Teal’s Radio 2 show.
At just 20 years old London based Jazz Vocalist Cherise Adams-Burnett is already making moves within London’s vibrant jazz scene. She has worked with musicians including Gary Crosby OBE, Jason Yarde, Jay Phelps, Theo Jackson, Peter Edwards and China Moses.
