Brundibár Arts Festival Closing Concert

Sage Two

This concert is dedicated to the memory of Hanni Begg (1929-2017) who was torn from home as a child during the war – the only survivor out of her entire family. Hanni was a keen supporter of the Festival before passing away in October 2017.

Popular works by Mozart and Korngold feature alongside the first piano quartet of Robert Kahn, who escaped from Berlin to England at the start of the war. This programme will also premiere a special commission from the American composer Vanessa Lann, a tradition which acknowledges those composers whose voices were cut short and epitomises the final message of the Festival as one of hope.
