BBC Radio 3 Free Thinking Festival: The Choir

Sage Gateshead Concourse

Radio 3’s Sara Mohr-Pietsch introduces a varied selection of choral music, with guests including locally based choir Voices of Hope performing live in the foyer performance space by Radio 3’s pop up studio.

Crowned Choir of the Year 2016, the group was founded in 2011 by musical director Simon Fidler and has toured the UK and abroad with a repertoire that ranges from Byrd and Tallis to contemporary commissions. They have just released their debut CD From the North.

Sara Mohr-Pietsch was the first ever Newnham Choral Scholar in Selwyn College’s Chapel Choir and has presented programmes for BBC Radio 3 since 2004.
