Loud & Clear Early Years and Family Learning

Funded by Youth Music and delivered in partnerships with Newcastle and Gateshead Council since 2012.

The programme supports the musical, personal, emotional and communication development of early years looked after, adopted children and children on the edge of care, and helps to build and nurture relationships between these children and their birth families, foster carers, adoptive parents and peers or siblings.

This project was designed to:
• Deliver Early Years family learning music sessions for foster carers, looked after children and birth siblings from Newcastle and Gateshead Local Authorities.
• Deliver training for foster carers, adoptive parents and partners about the benefits of Early Years family learning music making so that they feel confident to deliver music making in the home.
• Provide holiday activity at key points throughout the year, including a celebration event at the end of the project.

Sage Gateshead worked with 2 partners to deliver this project. In Gateshead we worked in partnership with Gateshead Council and in Newcastle we worked with Foster a Future. We were also pleased to have the support of Bridge North East and the Newcastle Aspire team.
