Sage Summer Studio

From 1 August – 2 September Sage Gateshead are offering short residencies (up to one week) for musicians, singers or artists to create new work, develop their practice or prepare for a performance. The idea is that residencies are creativity led rather than simply rehearsal, for example:

Creating new material/song-writing
Trying out new collaborations (we may be able to help source musicians for this)
Performance preparation
Recording preparation
Pushing the boundaries of your practice

The summer residencies will culminate in a showcase on 2 September where friends, family and members of the public are invited to hear the end result of the residencies. The day will also provide valuable mentoring opportunities for each artist from the Sage Gateshead team.

How to Apply

Please email TDP@sagegateshead.com with a brief description (100 words) or a short film (2 minutes) describing how you would like to spend a short residency at Sage Gateshead and a link to music you have created.

Please note that your link must be accessible online and if your link requires a password that it is included in your email.

Please also indicate in your email whether you require any technical support. Residencies are available for up to one week only (Monday – Friday, 9am-9pm), there is no charge but spaces are limited.

Sage Gateshead is one of 34 PRS for Music Foundation Talent Development Partners. Sage Summer Studio forms part of a wider programme of talent development at Sage Gateshead that will provide opportunities for a broad range of musicians working across different music genres.
